Are you ready for the one that got away?

Are you ready for the one that got away? It’s teaser Tuesday so I’m sharing a sneak peek at my upcoming release, Hunting the Hero.

Since escaping abduction, Rosemary Randall has become a master of reinvention. With a fresh name and an intriguing new lover, she’s determined to forget the past and make the most of her scandalous life. So when she hears her brother is searching for her, she put her pen to paper to try to explain her reasons for not going back.

Dearest Leopold,

In a perfect world I would be with you and our brothers at Romsey. In a forgiving world any eccentricities could be overlooked and not used to harm others. However, life is not simple and not every indiscretion can be forgiven. When you have fallen as far as I have, there is little point in making plans beyond survival and the briefest taste of pleasure.

I thank you for your concern. But I must beg you to stop searching for me. I cannot come back. I was never perfect and I cannot forgive as easily as you have done. Not everyone should be found, or saved.

Your loving sister,

Rosemary

Hunting the Hero will be available to read on September 1st. Not long now.

Miss Watson’s First Scandal is waiting for you!

It’s here. It’s here. Release day for Miss Watson’s First Scandal has finally arrived. After months of planning, writing, editing and coaxing this new series along, the Miss Mayhem novellas are ready to take their first steps into the world.

Miss Watson's First ScandalBook 1 ~ Miss Watson’s First Scandal

Overworked London banker David Hawke has two goals for his week in the seaside town of Brighton: one, demand repayment of a debt without losing a valued friendship and two, relax for the remaining holiday without further distractions—except he encounters his friend’s newly confident younger sister and all his carefully made plans end. Abigail Watson is flirty, bold, and determined David will agree to her bargain and save her brother from debtor’s prison. But is her game to prevent him from calling in the debt, or are her sweet kisses a sign she is after a much greater prize instead?

This is a sensual read rather than sizzling but mischief, romance and lots of passion abound. I hope you’ll give the book a shot.

Want another peek at the story and the unstoppable Miss Watson? Here’s a teaser for your reading pleasure…

Abigail threw her arms about her friend in gratitude and hugged her. “I need to find my brother a wife. An heiress, in fact, and I know the perfect one.”

A frown crossed Imogen’s face as Abigail released her. “The only heiress you know is Miss Melanie Merton. Would you really want to live under the same roof as that woman?”

Imogen did have a point about Melanie. The reigning beauty of their circle possessed the largest dowry and could be very demanding of those around her. Peter had never shown any interest in Melanie, but he might if given enough encouragement. Wasn’t having him marry a harridan better than him losing everything?

She smoothed her hands over her gown. “There is no one else unless another comes to Brighton.”

Imogen’s expression grew skeptical. “The last man who called at Merton House to propose practically ran away afterward. Have you come to dislike your brother?”

Abigail sat up straighter. “I love my brother. I’m doing this for his own good. Starting tomorrow I shall somehow engineer meetings between them. Who knows, maybe Peter will come around with her dowry to sweeten the deal.”

“You’ve become very mercenary about this business, Abigail. Almost as bad as Miss Radley.” Imogen squeezed her hands. “I’m not sure I like your sudden turn of practicality. Where has your romantic heart disappeared to?”

New Year, New Goals, New Series

New Year, New Goals, New SeriesHappy New Year!! The start of the year always brings fresh promise, a clean slate, new goals, and a new series to write. Perhaps sometimes I get a little ahead of myself but you have to set your sights high if you want to get where you want to be right?

In the last year, I published nine stories including two series, The Distinguished Rogues and the Hunt Club Chronicles. I hope to work just a tad slower this year. LOL Later this year I will continue the Hunt Club Chronicles, my gay regency series. But next up will be the Wild Randalls. The first book is Engaging the Enemy, your first glimpse into the Randall Family of Hampshire.

SECRETS — LIES — SCANDAL

Every great family has a few secrets best left unspoken. The wild Randalls of Hampshire excel at them.

 Engaging the Enemy

A duchess should be regal, aloof and the image of calm elegance. But those words have never applied to Mercy Randall, Duchess of Romsey. A widow and mother of a young duke, Mercy is lonely and floundering to keep the estate afloat. When she discovers the existence of Leopold Randall, her husband’s estranged cousin, Mercy commits to help him locate his missing siblings if he’ll return the estate to order. Although cautioned against trusting a man who would inherit everything should her son die, she impetuously hands over the estate to Leopold’s care in the hope of keeping him near.

Leopold Randall, heir to the young duke, has returned to Hampshire to demand information regarding the fate of his missing siblings. Unfortunately, the Duchess of Romsey is clueless about them, yet her struggle to maintain the estate tugs at Leopold’s sense of duty. At her insistence, he steps in to bring order to chaos while searching for hints to his family’s whereabouts amongst the old duke’s papers. Yet the duchess tempts him in ways best unspoken. He fights to hide his weakness for her and a shameful past that could see him banished again. But when Leopold discovers a threat against the duchess and young duke’s life, he must join forces with the temptress to protect his last known relative.

Beginning February 13th, I’m embarking on a month long virtual book tour to promote Engaging the Enemy. Stay tuned for more details to come. There will be many free copies up for grabs.

In the mean time, do you set goals for this year ahead and do you stick to them?
