My husband is always sicker than I am

Actually, that’s his idea of today’s blog topic. He’s currently laying behind me, wallowing with a sore eye. Poor baby. LOL Men are always so much sicker than women.

But enough about the sick one, its been a heads down kind of week for me. Working solidly on Charity, critting some fantastic chapters from my critique partners, attended another riotous local writers meeting, and after much faffing, managed to upload Chills and Charity to Smashwords which will give me eventual distribution to Sony, Apple, Barnes and Noble, Diesel, Nook and Kobo. So happy both books managed to get through the Autoveta check without errors. Whew!

My husband is always sicker than I am

Oh, and I had the best fun on Sunday. The amazingly talented Suzie Grant asked me to design another cover for her upcoming hot and steamy release, For the Sake of Sin (coming soon to Amazon). What a way to spend a lazy Sunday. What do you think? Does this look like a historical western romance potentially filled with sin that you’d buy just for the cover?

Photoshop is fast becoming my favorite vice? It’s an amazing program. So much to do and learn with it. But making book covers is something I think going to pursue as a sideline business. Of course I’m going to have to clone myself to do it but it’s totally doable. LOL. More details to come.

What was the last book I read? Well, I’m currently reading Death, The Vampire and His Brother by Lexxie Couper.

When it comes down to love or duty, pick a side—and pray your heart survives.
Death exists for one purpose and one purpose only: to sever the life-threads of the living. She does her job with pride and an unwavering commitment. Nothing ruffles her. Until she encounters Patrick Watkins. The Australian lifeguard pushes all her buttons—and makes her tailbone itch like crazy. And when her tailbone itches, it means trouble is brewing. Big trouble.

Ven’s gut tells him that Death is taking aim at his kid brother. He should know—he died and was turned vampire while trying to prevent another failed murder-attempt eighteen years ago. Patrick is meant to do something important in the world, and Ven will do anything to keep him safe. Even take on Death herself. In more ways than one.

As far as Patrick’s concerned, the whole thing is a load of bull. But what if everything Death tells him turns out to be true? How is he expected to save mankind from the worst fate of all—the Apocalypse? Especially when all he can think about is how quickly he’s falling in love with the most feared Horseman of them all…

Verdict so far: Bloody funny and a damn hot read! Death or Fred as she prefers to be known is a brilliant character.

Coming up this week: lots more writing. I have Charity to finish and A Tale of Three Gentlemen to get back to as well. And I’m long overdue for some writerly feeback from my crit group so I might upload some chapters to see if I’m still making sense. Good feedback is so crucial for any author – you can read the same sentence multiple times and not see the obvious error with it until someone nice points it out. My crit group is utterly amazing, and I get to see them soon. The Romance Writers of America Conference in New York is just a four weeks away. Maybe I should think about what to pack? Yikes!
