Hello there!
I'm Heather Boyd, romance author and fan of the English regency era novel. But I'm not the kind of girl who wants her romance sugar coated. I find the language, customs and all the strangeness of an age gone by absolutely fascinating. Especially the issues that divided friends and family.
Unlike a lot of authors, I haven't been writing fiction all my life and the last few years have been a very steep learning curve. But I wouldn't go back and change that fateful holiday when I was so relaxed (utterly bored) that I picked up pen and paper and wrote down my inner most fantasies. Well, maybe not all of them. Somethings are best kept secret.
In the first year of writing I completed two novels, participated in NaNoWriMo and found a group of critique group who changed my life. I am so thankful for them because I wouldn't have had the nerve to pursue publication without their encouragement.
My first story, One Wicked Night, published in April 2010 and I've steadily completed and published more since then. Although I initially pursued literary agent representation and a print publishing contract, I've changed my focus and believe independent publishing is an essential part of my writing career.
For now, life as a romance author is very, very exciting so I hope you enjoy my stories because the best is yet to come.
