#SixSunday 44 In Her Image

Welcome sixers! Thanks for sharing part of your Sunday with me. This is the very next lines after last weeks postΒ when Doris came face to face with an unpleasant man.

***

Doris had dressed with careless ease this morning; she had selected clothing to please herself. It was ridiculous for a courtesan to wear sheer low-cut gowns at this early hour in the park. This was the only time of day the world saw her as she honestly was, not as the scandal loving nymph who had pleasured many a man in her bed.

Lord Ramsay believed he had a chance, but the thought of suffering his embrace made her skin crawl. Lottie Townsend had standards to maintain. The first was that Doris must live with the consequences of whatever the courtesan chose to do.

  1. Love that she feels free to be herself here. Too bad Lord Ramsey interrupted her. Great six! πŸ™‚

  2. I love how she separates herself from her “work.” And, I’m so happy to find out he isn’t someone who is already entrenched in her life. Though – I have a feeling he is going to make things difficult before the end.
