Romancing the Hop – 31 Aug to 3rd September

Friends, I'm super excited to welcome you all to my Romancing the Hop stopFriends, I’m super excited to welcome you all to my Romancing the Hop stop. Starting today and ending September 3rd, over 100 authors and bloggers will talk about romance.

What makes a book a keeper? I was perusing my bookshelves recently, (ok, I alphabetized the books) and I discovered it comprises a lot of titles filled with humor. Sin & Sensibility has an great love scene by a pond with a weasel lurking in the background. Jillian Hunter’s The Love Affair of an English Lord has a recently deceased viscount hiding himself in the heroine’s closet. At The Bride Hunt Ball (Lavinia Kent) is great for sheer mayhem in husband hunting; Yours Till Dawn (Teresa Medeiros) always makes me smile. What I love about historical romance is that I cannot read one without my mood being affected. Almost always, I’m the better for reading the story.

So there’s my ‘go to’ books when a blue mood strikes. So my question to you, what book lifts your spirits no matter how many times you read it?

Claribel Wheaton never doubted she’d snare the dashing Lord Ramsbury. She even had a cunning plan to prevent his marriage. Unfortunately, her plans failed quite badly and she unwittingly spends a night in the wrong man’s bed.

Lord Justin is a man in love with the written word and a woman who wouldn’t give him the time of day. When he misplaces a cherished book of prose, and fate delivers the woman of his dreams, he’s honor bound to make it right. But can Justin convince Claribel that his love is true and that being married to a budding poet is everything her romantic heart desires?

  1. My go-to reads are historical romance novels and food magazines (Rachael Ray and Donna Hay).

There’s something so assuring about the HEA that’s guaranteed at the end of every romance novel. And I love being transported to a different time and place (hence, historicals) —

I love that the hero of your novel is a poet — ^_^

    Thanks for the great giveaway!

  2. Honestly? My faves are MaryJanice Davidson’s or Katie McAllister/Maxwell ‘s books – they are always loaded with laughs, some romance and a bit of strange. But all the books I appreciate have funny moments.

  11. Thanks for participating! Really like the hop so far!! I love reading, especially romance. I love reading contemporary, historical and erotic romance. I love the happy ending that is garenteed at the end. My favorite book is Lover Mine by JR Ward! I love John Matthew and Xhex. My favorite romantic moment was when my fiancé asked me to marry him! We meant two years ago right around when summer was ending when my friend and I went out for our last big night out before classes started again. I think it is romantic when he brings me flowers because no one else has ever done it! Thanks so much! Hope everyone else is having a great long weekend!!

  15. what book lifts your spirits no matter how many times you read it?

It’s not really a particular book that I read to lift my spirits just some particular authors who mixes humor and romance very well. I love Eloisa James, Nicole Jordan, Carly Phillips, Paula Quinn, and someone who is really good at having very witty characters is Julia Quinn. Usually if I’m reading and laughing out loud at the same time falling in love with the characters it is most likely one of them. Oh yeah I don’t want to forget Sabrina Jefferies because she is right there in the mix.

  18. I have quite a few go to books when I’m feeling blue. Um definitely Lydia Dare’s paranormal regency series, they’re a mix of romance and humor. There’s also Tessa Dare’s A Week to Be Wicked, when I’m blue I have to have a romance novel with humor in it or sarcasm, lots of sarcasm because I find that funnier than your average humor.
